BILL DEAN'S CEMETERY RECORDS

Several of our cemeteries are the legacy of Bill Dean. According to Frank Dennis, Town of Rose Coordinator:

Bill Dean, Historian for the Town of Galen, developed a database of cemetery records for the Towns of Galen, Rose, Savannah, and part of Butler in the early 1900s. In 1998, several years after his death, his widow gave the computer and records to the Clyde-Savannah Free Library in Clyde. At that time, the company that wrote the program was defunct and the procedure for accessing the records was not available. However, Bill Garrofano was able to open the file for use by librarian Lori DiSanto. Lori and Frank Dennis then printed off some of the information on the file. Frank is particularly interested in the records for Rose and Butler. He provided Bill Dean with information in 1992, and Bill sent him printouts of selected families/cemeteries.

We have adhered exactly to what the names of the cemeteries on the Wayne County Historian's lists show. Please keep in mind that what one list may show the other does not, and visa-versa, so it would be best to consult both lists.
