Meet Verna: the long-anticipated and first of many articles written by Verna Richards Shinebarger Seidel, 101 years old, and resident of Wolcott, N.Y.
Verna's grandson, Frank Patterson, will be showing her each of these pages as they go on line. It's her wish that her memories and writing will be enjoyed by people who came from or whose relatives lived in or now live in Wolcott. If you'd like to send Verna a message, thank you, or belated 101st birthday greeting, please do and send to Frank at his email address. He'll be printing them off for her so that she can read them. If your family lived in Wolcott in the early days of the 20th century please tell her. It'll mean a lot to her that her work of many years has now reached an appreciative audience.

Sodus resident Nancy Nevelizer took down when she walked this cemetery in 1998.
The 3 files listed above are from the original list of readings at the Office of
the County Historian. Nancy's additions add up to many more burials than the
original list. We will soon post a third supplementary list of "lost stones".
We'd all like to extend our appreciation to Nancy for the many hours she put into
creating a resource that will aid Wayne County researchers for many years to
come.

Mary Riley benefited from the reporting of the burial notice of Wayne Co. resident Rebecca Nichols, who died while staying with her daughter in Indiana in 1853. Keep sending in your sightings of Wayne County residents from out-of-state books, articles, and lists. You might be next to benefit from another researcher's watchfulness.
