Remarks on the harvest of 1874: The yield of the crop of 74 was one quarter above that of former years particularly of wheat crop. The present crops on the ground are somewhat backward but promise a good yield (except wheat), which was badly injured by late frosts and will fall one quarter below the average of former years. The hay crop is more than an average this year. The potato bug is alarming prevalent through my district.
