This listing of the Gideon Durfee Cemetery comes from the Office of the County Historian. As you can see, there were two readings, one undated and likely earlier than the one done by an unknown reader in April 1952. As part of his pictorial survey of existing Wayne County cemeteries, Daryl VerStreate made an on-site visit and circled on the list those he could find in 2005. "The ones circled are ones I could verify today. The Knight Stone is broken into about 30pieces."

On East Palmyra Road (penned above this - N. Creek Rd.), in lot back of barns on the Henry Mitchell farm, northeast of village of Palmyra, Palmyra Township, Wayne County, N.Y.

2005 Driving Directions - Rte. 21 North from Palmyra. Make a Right hand turn onto North Creek Road after crossing over bridge. The Gideon Durfee farm is a Historic Landmark and is marked as such with Blue signs on the side of the road. The Cemetery and farm is a few miles down road on the Left. Cemetery is behind house. The owners are friendly and do the maintenance on the Cemetery. Please ask permission before entering their property out of respect.
