It is possible that those who had left the church for one reason or another were excluded from this, what appears to be, the official membership list, revised in 1897. He born Cadzand, she Groede. To U.S. in 1885.

May 7, 1999 - Gary Decker contacted us and advised that "Johannes den Dekker and Cornelia Schaap) are my great-grand parents. Unfortunately, the place where they are buried was listed as Fairville where actually they were buried in East Palmyra (headstones John and Cornelia Decker). " I asked him for more information:

"My grandparents are buried in Fairville Cemetery (Abram Decker 1886-1957 and Sarah Decker 1889-1973 although they are not listed), along with an uncle Harold that died at 11 days old that is listed. My great-grandparants are not listed in the Fairville Cemetery, and not in the East Palmyra Cemetery either. I only know of one cemetery in East Palmyra. I was told by my father that my great-grandparants were buried in East Palmyra along with a great-great uncle Jake. Based on directions from my father, I went to the cemetery in East Palmyra and found the headstones for my great-grandparants (John Decker 1861-1935 and Cornelia Decker 1860-1939.) I'm reasonably sure they were not moved since my father and mother lived with my great-grandmother, after my great-grandfather died, to take care of her. I'm assuming (I know most people hate that word because it makes an, oh never mind) that since most people that lived between Marion and Newark were buried in the Fairville Cemetery, they thought they were too. Coincidentally, the Decker Road in Newark was named after my grandfather Abram Decker when he was on the town board of Newark."
